Your next chair could start with yesterday’s coffee.
PLANQ changes the material behind a familiar form with BAKKIE.

BAKKIE begins with a familiar shell chair and changes what goes into it. Dutch furniture studio PLANQ uses coffee grounds as a raw material for the collection, extending its work with discarded materials.
The project is presented at Building TX in Eindhoven during Dutch Design Week, through October 25, 2026. Anton Teeuw and Mark Versluis are credited for creative direction, product design and material innovation.
STURDY NOTE: An object does not need an unfamiliar silhouette to make you reconsider it. Sometimes the useful change is in the material and the production choices. That is the detail to ask about before treating another chair as another image.
Find BAKKIE at Achtsteweg Zuid 187, daily 11:00 to 18:00 local time. A Dutch Design Week ticket is required.
